Here we go again...

Now my physical therapy is focused on helping my back and neck pain. Thanks, Don!

Let's see here....

I'm trying to see if I can bust out a blog post before I pass out from my meds....
My Spokane trip was wonderful- I got to see family and friends.  Unfortunetly, my favorite Thai place was closed.  I'll have to wait until August.
On Sunday my UTI decided to show it's face again- and it came back with a vengence.  Being in Spokane, all I could do as wait until I got back into town. I also developed a migraine.  The end of my trip was definitely not fun.

I called my Doc on Monday while waiting at some airport.  I was told that he didn't want to prescribe me anything until he had a culture done to see what kind of acteria I was fighting.  That made me want to cry, but I told him I would go first thing n Tuesday before work.

I had left my car at the airport (well, Kevin's car) so I got the lovely privilege of driving home in rush hour traffic.  On highway 50, within spitting distance of my last car crash, the bitch behind me decided to change her radio station.

Crash.  Rear-ended.

No pictures, sorry.

BTFW- who needs to take their eyes off the road to change the radio station?  Oy vey. In stop and go traffic, none the less!  I am looking forward to my first experience with having the person at fault not run away.  Hopefully she has insurance.

Long story short, I'm really goddamn sore.  I'm on muscle relaxers and viccodin.  And on that note, things are getting fuzzy so I'm going to take a nap.

Oh, right, the UTI.  Dr. Mansour was kind enough to write me an Rx fore antibiotics while we wait to the results.  Hopefully I'm on my way to good health.

Thank goodness for papas

I was pretty spent from Chuck E. Cheese and cooking. Papa put my present to Damien together, I only had to put on the stickers. Pretty good deal.

In-flight

This is a really excellent book about a father facing death due to pancreatic cancer. It's mostly what he wants his three young children to know. I wrote down a few phrases. My favorite: one thing that makes it possible to be an optimist is if you have a contingency plan for when all hell breaks loose.

Airport!

Didn't get much sleep last night... Too anxious to leave. Then I woke up early to make my hubby some stew. Can't let him starve while I'm gone. Especially since I'm leaving him at home while I go have fun!

Whoops, it's almost been a week.

Life has been busy.  The Super Bowl was this weekend and we had to clean the apartment.  Plus, I was feeling like poop. Yeah, I'm aware that my feeling like poop is supposed to drive this blog, but for some reason my motivation was down.  I bet it's connected to the feeling like poop, though.
My body is returning to normalcy... a round of steroids followed by a round of antibiotics.  My body is done calling me a bitch to my face but I think it's still holding a grudge.  I haven't been able to rock any sort of yoga for a while due to some on-going wrist pain.  A co-worker of mine has shared in our team meetings that she's a yoga enthusiast, so I decided to go to her for guidance...
Dolphin Pose
My co-worker suggested the dolphin pose as a replacement for downward facing dog (although she called it "down dog", which made me think I must be a real newbie since I don't know what the cool people call it!).  She then suggested doing a sort of "plank" to work your abs a bit more.  I think I'm going to give it a shot!  Thanks Loni!

'I probably won't have a chance to try this out until next week.  I leave for Spokane on Friday after class.  I feel like after all this bodily drama and all the hard work I've been doing at my internship I deserve a weekend of nephews, dining out, and laughing politely at stories I've heard eight million times before.  Excited!
Now, I should be working on my Title-IVE crap....

Damn straight.

Guess who just realized that their florescent-orange pee (a side effect of uti meds) kinda stains the bowl of the office toilets? Also, this is my last teabag. :(

Blood work!

Hoping that this round of labs will earn me some antibiotics for my uti!

Steroid withdrawal v. Eating healthy

Spinach salad and cumin-crusted salmon over mashed sweet potatoes. Only took 30 minutes start to finish.

Ugh.

I just discovered that I've posted using that title before.  I'm totally okay with that.  Does anyone want to make something of it?  No?  Good.
First, and most importantly, I'd like to say a word of thanks that my brother-in-law is okay.  He was in a car accident today and his car is totaled, but he was not injured.  I'm glad someone was looking out for him.
Now, to break the seriousness, I have a spider bite on my ass.  I noticed it yesterday and my frustration was immediately followed by panic when I remembered that last year what I thought was a spider bite on my ass turned out to be Shingles.  Hopefully, this will not be a repeat.
You'll notice that this post is lacking pictures so far.  You're welcome.
I finished up my steroids last night.  I don't think they worked, but I'm not willing to continue them/increase the dose.  My sore throat/difficulty swallowing was getting on my nerves.  I also read something interesting (when I was making sure that my side effects were common and I wasn't going to die)- you're not supposed to have grapefruit while you're on steroids.  Something about how it increases the potency.  I love how I got this news right when grapefruits went on sale and I bought three of them for ninety-nine cents.  Eh, screw it.
I was nice and responsible today for my diet.
Breakfast
Smoothie of almond milk, banana, fage, and a spoonful of nutella.  The nutella did nothing.  I was quite disappointed since it added 100 calories.  We live and learn.
Coffee with Peppermint Mocha CoffeeMate (I got it on clearance as it's not the season anymore.  Yum!)
Post PT Snack
Apple Pie Larabar
Pre-Lunch Snack (I was in a snack mood today, shush)
1/2 cup blueberries
Lunch
6 pieces of veggie-only, brown rice california rolls.  Can I just say that this is impressive for me?  I bought a thing of california rolls at Raley's before work.  They have around 16 pieces in each package.  Normally, I would eat the whole package.  Because I lack self-control and junk.  Not this time.  Go me!
Afternoon Snack (See above.  Shush)
Rye Crisps and Mediterranean Hummus
Dinner
Oven-roasted Broccoli
Quinoia
Honeyed Chinese Chicken Breasts

I'm also working on a cocktail.  When I feel like I'm getting a UTI (which is quite often... thanks, Lupus!), I mix up a nice UTI Cocktail.  Pure cranberry juice, vodka, and diet 7up.  Yes, you're supposed to refrain from alcohol while you have a UTI, but when you get them as often as I do, you need to have a drink.  Or two.  Tonight I mixed it up a bit (heh, just got there was a pun there) and added a splash of peach schnapps.  It was almost delicious.
Work felt a bit long today and my hands, hips, and back did not appreciate all the sitting and typing I was doing.  As such I'm a bit cranky today... which is why I don't care that my blog lacks pictures for the day.
I am still hurting, though, with a definite lack of energy.  As suck, my progress on my homework, thesis, and my disgusting apartment is minimal, if it all.
So, for now I'm going relax with the remainder of my UTI cocktail.  More in a day or so on that whole making friends BS.
What kind of things do you let slide when you're feeling like crap?
